Meetup: UI Designer

Meetup is looking to add a smart, creative, and experienced UI designer to our User Interface team. This is a mid- to senior-level position on a collaborative, supportive, relaxed and motivated team. You'll work with a smart, dedicated engineering team to design the next generation of the site. While Meetup is established and successful, we're still growing quickly -- enjoy the challenges and opportunity of working with a startup with the benefits of a mature company.
As a UI Designer, you will:
- Work closely with both engineers and product managers
- Design products of the highest quality with usability in mind
- Define and maintain the user interface for new and existing products
An ideal candidate has:
- Strong portfolio showcasing comprehensive skill of core design principles
- Minimum of 3 years experience
- Strong, clean visual design sense
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Fireworks and Illustrator
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Strong understanding of typography, color, usability and other design principles
- Understanding and enthusiasm for the latest in web-based design and technology
- Excellent visual, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to prototype your work in HTML/CSS/JS a strong plus
- A strong attention to detail and a feeling of pride and ownership over the quality of our product
- A passion and desire to work at a company trying to change the world
