This is a mid- to senior-level  position on a collaborative, supportive, relaxed and motivated team.  You'll work with a smart, dedicated engineering team to design the next  generation of the site. While Meetup is established and successful,  we're still growing quickly -- enjoy the challenges and opportunity of  working with a startup with the benefits of a mature company.<br /><br />As a  UI Designer, you will:<br /><br /></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work closely with both engineers  and product managers</li>\n<li>Design products of the highest quality with  usability in mind</li>\n<li>Define and maintain the user interface for  new and existing products</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br />An ideal candidate has:<br /><br /></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong  portfolio showcasing comprehensive skill of core design principles</li>\n<li>Minimum  of 3 years experience</li>\n<li>Strong, clean visual design sense </li>\n<li>Proficiency  in Photoshop, Fireworks and Illustrator</li>\n<li>Knowledge of HTML, CSS  and JavaScript</li>\n<li>Strong understanding of typography, color,  usability and other design principles</li>\n<li>Understanding and  enthusiasm for the latest in web-based design and technology</li>\n<li>Excellent  visual, verbal, and written communication skills</li>\n<li>Ability to  prototype your work in HTML/CSS/JS a strong plus</li>\n<li>A strong  attention to detail and a feeling of pride and ownership over the  quality of our product</li>\n<li>A passion and desire to work at a company  trying to change the world</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br /> Every member of the  Meetup Team is expected to: be an Innovator; be a Collaborator; be a  Champion for their ideas; be an Expert; have High Standards; be  dedicated to the power of self-organized groups and our mission of A  Meetup Everywhere About Most Everything (\"MEME\"); and most importantly,  Get Stuff Done That Makes a Difference!</p>\n</p><p><strong>Apply:</strong> If the above describes you and your passions, we want to hear from you!
